About Lionel Rawlinson Furniture
Lionel Rawlinson was born in England and came to Canada in 1883 where he learned his craft. His brother, Marmaduke Rawlinson, opened the very first moving and storage company in Toronto at 610 North Yonge Street, the M. Rawlinson Co.

Lionel went into the making and selling of fine furniture, and set up his shop near Marmaduke's office and warehouse. Lionel Rawlinson was known throughout Canada for excellence of his hand-made furniture, and he made the chairs upon which the King and Queen sat during their visit to the Ontario Legislature buildings on May 22, 1939.
